I AM going to face them, confront them, demand them to provide justice, if not I want them to REFUND every penny i have paid so far. If this "I AM" becomes "WE", half the battle won. It is a hard fact but I guess I do not want to scare anyone. If you notice some people have got their JuLY 2ND filed cases receipt # and most of them have a Notice date of 08/04/2007 (the guys who got their receipt #). This notice date is the day the Receipt was generated. So today is 08/13/2007. It seems that USCIS is delaying this process of issuing receipts as that will give them a chance to reject applications after 17th. So I guess we should brace ourselves for rejection notices also......
Keep your chin up, guys. You have to understand that there must have been a large number of applications arriving in the USCIS basket. Things will take time - so will the receipts. Do not lose hope.
Why worry about things for which you have no control on? You certainly can control your actions. Maybe contribute to IV in money, time etc PLUS also show up at the rally and sign up a bunch of your friends. Action is the only solution to Worry. :)

I did not get an approval for the 485 so was thinking what the process was here. Am I not supposed to be getting an approval notice in the email before the "Card Ordered" message came through ? I hope everything is over now, it was a long 51/2 years wait and just when you loose hope in the whole process this message turns up in my Inbox. I love this site and will continue to support it in whatever manner I can

Wouldn't count on that too much. Check how many people came in on H-1B just prior to those years. Then look at the annual per-country quota.

Predictions of the bill
I think some result will come in the bill sooner or later. if not this year may be next year bill will be passed. Probably most of the immigration provisions will be Amended to get a some releif for everyone. H1 cap may be increased to 115k. No of greencards will not be 650k. may be Double the current number than 650k. There will be strong opposition for big increase of immigration. The reason is lot of americans lost job in IT because of outsourcing and h1s. The impact might be mild as most of them landed in another job as ecomomy slowly improved. If no possiblity of passing the bill it will be killed in 2 or 3 months. On the other hand If delayed for next year the bill will be passed in some form. Bush will try to give relief to illegals before he leaves office.

If the cap becomes 300K Per annum, Iam sure everybody by which I mean even if somebody has filed for his / her labor today will get approved within 2 years (Equivalent to 600K visa numbers). Of course this will require a change of law but nobody EB1, EB2, EB3, ROW, India / China would oppose this as everybody's process gets speeded up. There is no other way to clear the backlog in its entirety and ensure that it does not happen again like this solution of excluding dependents.

What is the difference between the two? IMO, two words "Effective Marketing". Come on, where are the MBA's among us who can offer strategy? Actually I feel we are so backward that we don't even need MBA's to improve from here, just any simple ideas

I am happy to announce that I have received the EAD cards today (just like rc0878 had suggested). I should not have doubted the encouragement and estimation of the experience here.
So, I received the EAD cards dated Sept 18th, expiry is one year from the issue date i.e. Sept 17th, 2008 (unlike someone else's cards which were valid for only 3 months).
Let me know if someone wants to ask any other information.

I received my (and my family's) transfer notice (and hence the WAC### nos.) for 485 application yesterday at my residence. The cases were filed in CA by my lawyer (filing from MD). The cases have been transferred to TX.
I am yet to receive any notice/tracking no. for EAD and AP applications. The checks were made by the lawyer so that is not an option.
Questions::confused:
1) Does transfer mean delay in processing ?
2) Is EAD tracking no. different from the 485 no. ? If so, where can I get that from ?
3) Are they still issuing EADs in about a couple of months ? If so, that is great. If not, when does the 90-day clock start for INFOPASS ? (if it is an option in this incresed activity)
Any answers or discussions or links to the solutions are welcome.
Good luck to everyone for the speedy processing.:D
