Everybody say that the 90 % of the american are against illegal, i don`t know, but it look really strange to me, due that everybody use illegal to clean the house or delivery food. I really think that american people are scared about high skilled immigrants that can really harm their job, i feel it everyday in my office. That is reason for my pessimisme. Nobody cares about an housekeeper or a delivery guy, no americans what to do that. By the way, my friends, from England, got a green card in two years. How could it possible?

I am already using my EB3 EAD to work (I invoked AC21 last year to change job) Can I know how much it costs to file EB2 labor+I-140+interfile process , if my current employer says that I have to pay for it myself (I was given this offer because I told them I did not need sponsorship and I had EAD).
By law Employer is required to pay for your labor. You cannot pay for your labor application. Employer can ask you to pay for your I140 which cost around 400 but if you go for premium processing you can pay 1000 extra. There is no other cost involved. To port your date your lawyer sends a letter to USCIS requesting them to consider your EB2 I140 instead of your Eb3 140 which results in your successfuly porting with your priority date still being maintained from old labor

I think that people are talking about a combination of things that makes a contry attractive. Chicago is cold, but that's just one of the many live cities in the US. You have options here.

Guys thinking of moving to Canada - i have one advise. Try to work there for a short time - maybe 6 months and then see if you really want to immigrate to Canada. (Maybe as a consultant)
It is a beautiful country, no doubt. But opportunities, racial tolerance, good standard of living etc, all need to be considered while making such an important decision of one's life. Immigrating for reasons other than above is going to back-fire and a lot of lost-time and heart-breaks.
I have said this earlier and am saying it again - our home-country should rank much higher in our priorities than going to a country other than the US. I have been living in the US for a long time, worked in Canada for enough time to offer such advises.

Even if i-140 is not approved one can still invoke ac21 (after fileing i485 and after 180 days) . But, your original employer has to answer if there is any i-140 rfe. And original employer can withdraw i-140 at any time until it get approved. So bottomline is, don't try to invoke ac21 until i-140 approved and your i485 is 180 days over.

Only one question: Ultimately for which companies the h1b consultants work for? It is not for Indian companies. It is always for projects in US companies. Mind it. Let US companies decide whom they want? I do not understand Why some people here are talking that Indian companies are using h1b etc etc.
Go and ask US Govt to provide free College education in computers to everyone in US. Then you will not have all these problems right. Instead of dealing the problem that way simply blaming trade laws?
Thats the point I was trying to make , no one is begging american corporate honchos to outsource to India or some other company in USA . These companies outsource because it furthers their bottom line and enables them to do what they are good at may be it is home loans , making cars or selling clothes. In the process of outsourcing they can hire best talent with in their means to complete the job in a limited amout of time.
Some people feel that consultants are cheap but they are much more expensive to corporations than their employees.

US continues to sell to Pakistan anticipating that India will also buy from US. This not only creates a dangerous situation in the region, it also forces resources away from development work. The best answer to US selling to Pakistan is, not to buy military equipment from US. Then US will not have an incentive to sell to Pakistan.
Till US stops selling equipment in the region, India should not buy anything from Boeing and Lockhead. Simple.

What reason did you give for declining this promotion? what kind of company is this ? how big ? would your salary increase ?
Maybe if you answer this, I could think of something..but as of now..if its a good company and you like it..explain to them the nitty gritties about how change in occupation, classification, salary etc would jeopardize your GC process...i can give more suggestions if you want to send me a PM..

As per this logic, Prof Matloff is also paid in the same bracket as other university professors; so he is also ordinary because his pay ratio would be 1.0!!! At any place, your co-workers are doing same type of work, so will get same salary. Even in hedge funds, if an immigrant is paid very high salary, his colleagues are also paid the same high salary. I just got back from a lengthy fight with my local and state DMV offices to convince them I'm legal to continue having a drivers license. I'm EB, in the adjustment of status stage since July 2007. DMV asked me recently for proof for status check. I took the pending I-485 receipt and while they told me it is an acceptable proof, they said they have a rule that if the document has no expiration date, they can only give you a driver license with validity 6 months beyond the receipt date of your document (with the wild assumption that any I-485 application is approved or denied within 6 months)
I have nothing against local government and their agencies enforcing immigration, but if you won't give your staff the necessary training to comprehend what legal immigration status is then it will be a disaster
