I am a big fan of the technology brought into the world by TiVo and ReplayTV, but TiVo has been one of the most amazingly horribly run companies I have ever seen. I am shocked they are still in business...and I guess they can thank Dish for that...
Wow... first I've EVER heard someone say a TV\Satellite Provider's DVR doesn't suck. I got rid of DirecTV cause their DVR sucked.
I went to Comcast, and had a Tivo Series 3 then now a Premier, and you'd have to pry this thing out of my cold dead hands. Tivo is arrogant, like Apple, but can be so because they have a quality product that no competitor touches.
You have your opinion, but anyone with a Tivo would disagree, lol, and you shouldn't be surprised their out of business because people love them, just to clue you in, hehe

Where do you think the Thunderbolt port might even go in the Air? Will it replace one of the USB ports? Doesn't seem like there's really that much room... thoughts?

How do you block farmville? It's annoying me the amount of posts I get a day from people who've found a sparkly pure egg or a wounded badger. I'd love to not have all that guff clogging up my iPhone screen.
I am having similar issues with notification sounds in that I get none. Not too fussed but would be nice if it did exactly what it said on the tin.
Try going to settings->application settings
Once the page loads, go to the drop down box and select "allowed to post"
Find farmville and click edit settings and you can change it there.
Also, on the news page you can go and click the hide next to any farmville news, then you can select Hide Farmville. This will prevent it from showing up in the news feed.

In the snow areas more damage is done to the roads with thawing and freezing than the cars driving over them. Road salts eat through quicker than cars just driving on them. Sure the cars add to the wear but they are not the only factor. As long as we plow and treat the roads they will need to be repaired quicker regardless of how much traffic there is.

It probably depends on the specifics of the network you want to build, but overall, I always found it ridiculously easy to build a Mac OS network than a Windows one.

Ever think that Apple might not want you to think of them when you download some of the crap podcasts that would be, and have already become available???

I'm with you. I already catched myself looking up a number in my nano's address book ("contacts") and looking for the "call" item. I'd love to have the main menu going "Music \n Phone \n Phone \n Extras etc." But the nano might actually be a little small for a phone. Try holding one at your ear for a minute. How about an add-on that you plug in on the bottom via the dock connector? Makes the thing a little longer and you can just upgrade your iPod. Kinda like the iTrip, but in the exact same design as the iPod itself.
No way would an iPhone launch without a keypad. Text messaging is too popular. I think it will be a slider phone, though, so they keyboard is tucked away until you need it.
And I don't think the nano length is too short for a phone. My SonyEricsson is the same height as the Nano.

Already exists. They are called the 8gb iPhone 3GS for $99, and the 32gb iPhone 4 for $299.
Next year, there will be an iPhone 4 with 8gb for $99, and the iPhone 5 will take over the $199/$299 spots with new, fantastic features. :)
How much cheaper does Apple need to make the phone to entice buyers? What can they do to make a more expensive phone for "high end" customers? Make it gold-plated, or possibly an iPhone with 24" spinner rims?
I agree with everyone else here, Shaw Wu should stop being a fake analyst and get to work at his new, more appropriate job� asking me if I want fries with that.

months ago they had an article about how the
market share in college is really falling more toward
mac, more than ever before. Apple is getting them
young, and that will pay off in the long run. I got
my first Mac when I started college and now that
I finished, I got a new one. The new laptops have
made a huge dent in this age group, so that is what
a lot of this whole market share increase is caused by.
Harvard and Princeton have both recently reported that 50% of sales at their campus computer stores are Macs.

It's a Mid 2009 15" Macbook pro. I think it's the version of bootcamp, 3.0.4 but i can't find 3.1 or later on the apple site for some reason and all the other ones download in code; driving me drazy. I think the version of windows is either the original or 7.1. Any thoughts?

There is much to be said for cultural bias, and by "bias" I don't mean anything specifically negative. What I mean is one's culture gives one a certain frame of reference. And having worked for Sony for 5 years, one thing I have learned is not to try and judge things inside of Japan by my own standards, since Japanese frequently don't look at things the way I do.
It's my impression that, for instance, Japanese people don't look for ways of "sticking it to the man" like we do here in the U.S. I don't mean that someone from Japan doesn't know about the concept of "fighting city hall", but that it's handled differently.
I'm not quite sure how to convey the same sentiment in Japanese Apple commercials that we have here, since we have no trouble calling Microsoft "evil" in all the senses of the word, whereas I think in Japanese culture, the priority is more on either helping another save face or at least remaining neutral in such matters (though by all means someone here who's a native or someone who is an expert on Japan and it's culture, correct me if I'm wrong.)
Can someone here please give myself and/or the rest of us some guidance with respect to how far one can go in Japan in speaking of others before they cross some socially unacceptable line? I really don't know, and would like to.
