The following was the message for the first one which was 2 years ago.
You must submit two identical color photographs of yourself taken within 30 days of the filing of this application. The photos must have a white background, be printed on thin paper with a glossy finish, and be unmounted and unretouched. NOTE: Digital photos are NOT acceptable.
In the latest RFE, they didnt say anything about digital. Just wanted me to submit another set of pics.
Can you please explain in detail what the RFE was about? What was it that USCIS did not like about your photos?

Does that mean 180 after the I140 is approved or 180 after the RN of the I485 as long as the I140 is approved? (Even if it has been approved for only 2 months)

thats ok, no need of apologies. all i am asking you is to keep it to the point that you opened this thread for and discuss the options. Ok what i have heard after calling Lufthansa is because of the new Schezewan (I knmow i spelled it worng) visa changes AP is no longer considered a valid visa document by Germany. It used to before but no longer and of course France, England and other countres never did. So coming back to Germany yes while travelling to and fro you need a transit visa (Direction does not make any difference because as far as Germany is concerned you are from India and you have no Valid visa to America and/or any european country so you are suspect of trying to illegally enter Germany and to avioid it you need to buy transit visa).
I myself was plannig for a trip and was trying for travle via Doha and Qatar where no transit visa is required. (Us to gluf direct flight. Gulf to any city in india) but the rates were high. If you like you can look at that opiton too. beats the hell out of going to teh german embassy and getting a transit visa. But if that is your preference go with it

This basicalkly means that too many cases are stuck in name check at I 140 and I 485 stage or that USCIS is not processing as fast as it ought to.
To give you an ex I have a friend with PD of Dec 1998 (original case not substitution) whose I 485 is stuck in name check., My friend is not a Muslim. There could be many others too.
What does this mean? That there are not as many approved labor cases as anticipated originally by the USCIS????

Recent discussions have indicated that both the Citizenship and Immigration Services (CIS) and the Department of Labor still have a significant amount of cases in their backlog reduction efforts. As a result, the anticipated increase in demand has not yet materialized and may not for some time. Therefore, in an effort to maximize number use under the annual numerical limit, the Worldwide and Philippines Employment Third preference cut-off dates have been advanced by one year.
Unless there is a significant increase in Employment demand, it will be necessary to continue this rate of movement during the upcoming months. Such movement could be expanded to include other chargeability areas and preference categories.
One consequence of rapid cut-off date advancement is the inevitable increase in demand for numbers as adjustment of status cases are brought to conclusion at CIS Offices. Thanks for the good work. However, I saw a major potential flaw in estimating the applications from ROW. The report finds the life cycle for a ROWer to submit 485 is 1 year, thus assuming little AOS applications will be filed in the coming year from ROW. But this analysis forgot to consider those ROWers who started GC in year 2008. A person who started working in 11/2008 is ready to submit 485 now and uses one quota, even if a person who just started working won't be able to submit AOS till a year from now. With this under consideration, I feel the spillover will be much less than initially estimated.
Please correct me if I missed anything.
Good observation, but the economy wasn't good in 2008 either and most of the time both PERM centers were closed for business. Chicago was closed in mid year and Atlanta wasn't working from late 2007 till early 2009.
So the number of PERM approvals would be very low. Assuming CIS cleared most of the I140 backlog as they indicated, their I485 numbers should include the recent ROW approvals as they become real backlog applications (backlogged by CIS processing not by visa numbers)

Hi,
I sent my application on 29th Sept 2010 and have not heard anything yet.
Most of the times I can't get hold of anyone and when I do they keep saying that they are not ready yet! That's very helpful!
God forbid if I have to leave the country due to any emergency, what the heck will I do then?
Sorry didn't want to bore you with this, but what or who did you contact at the embassy?

I had to sent them shipping tracking info and eventually they found my application sitting in a drawer. Never bother to opened it till than. I had to go through some higher level rank person to get my case resolved. The customer rep. phone is always busy, never able to get a hold.. I am a consultant on H1B with EAD now. In my office (a major bank in US) I am 200% safe than the employees there.. they live like what you said (thinking when their job is at risk) and I am there in the job for last 3 years with a bright future.. I never blame the situatiuon I am in..
My view is " I have not born to live in A country or work for A company" I will always find my way out..
We bought a house recently and I know how many of my friends look at us and sigh a breath as they cannot do what they want for the fear of GC..
We are one happy family with our kids running around the house like they do in India...
just my thoughts.. not to meant to hurt anyone..
I am also waiting for a GC to buy a house ... can't buy on a H1 visa with a project that keeps on getting extended every 3-6 months. You need stability for at least a few years to put in a committment for a mortgage that you are going to pay for 30 years.

Thanks Chandu. Did the same. Got I485 reopended as it is USCIS error (Filing Fee Not enclosed.) Got I797c for both of us saying that I485 reopened.
I liked the "Filing Fee Not enclosed" part. How did you manage to open an MTR without attaching a fee check? Please let us know. Ideally, we should not attach fee with MTR for such cases as these are USCIS errors.

Is the photo digital or paper? OR the photo is first digital then you're printing it? Am I correct?
So from my understanding.....you go to Kinkos or CVS( do they know the requeirments of photo if I tell them about immigration photo for Adjustment of status?) .....they make a digital photo of you and then they are printing the digital photo? is this correct?
