HAHAAHA, Yu guys are still dreaming. No more egreen cards for H1Bs doesnt matter what stage you are in. You will get queries like 'when there are so many americans without jobs, why do you need immigrants?' can any company wants to respond to this query?
Already several companies (especially american companies)received this type of audit, And they stopped filing labor and I140.Dont know what type of new audits come at 485 stage.I lost hopes of green card. I have 3.6 years left on H1. I will save whatever I can n go back to india, open a groceyr store, run it on no profit no loss purpose.

Nobody get any advantage from your situation. We are all very sad about your situation. Even legal IV members are forced to go home after loosing their job and after 6 years in H1B.
You are here come not in any work visa catagory. Not even in NAFTA.
You file your I-485 at the time of July 2007 visa fiasco.
USCIS got 1 million application at that period. So they didn't made much scrutiny your application. If at normal time, you may get a fast RFE and subsequent denial.
Because of work load it was not happened. I have read all of your previous threads in IV (REGARDING FINGER PRINT ETC). Your case is diffrent with the people here.
You are ignorant regarding immigration. You have acess to comuter. Google it and get info.
You are telling about I-485 only.
YOU ARE NOT TELLING ABOUT I-140 (EMPLOYMENT BASED) OR I-130 (FAMILY BASED)
IF you are not filed I-130 or I-140 at the time or before I-485, your petition is invalid.
Except EB1, almost all EB based GC need labor process.
If your I-94 date is expired and you are not extend it or change to any visa catagory at the time of I-485 filing, you are illegal. IT IS THE HARD TRUTH.
USCIS will not adjust the status, if the petitioner is not legal at the time of I485 filing.
After I-485 filing I-94 expiry is not a problem.
Canada is next country. Why you didn't go back and come in NAFTA or other visa catagory ?

DHS chose not to respond to congresswoman lofgren's letter (twice). I don't think they are going to respond to this letter. The letter (via fedex) will be transferred straight from the airport to trash can ;)

To be fair, inability to get educated (linked to career progression) deserves some attention.
I was in gautamagg's situation earlier (I am still kind of ). I believe there are several others in the same situation. GC delay is an serious hindrance when age is a factor for getting education. However, there are alternatives - part-time education and studying in another country. Have friends who have taken both the approaches. You can come back to the U.S (if you really need to) after your education/experience through H1 again.
As far as the U.S loosing talent, U.S legislators/administrators are the ones who should be worried and try to stop it. The coveted trying to convince them seems contradictory and doesn't gel well.
Personally, I think expecting a quick solution for the mired immigration issue to get an education is expecting a little too much when there are alternatives. This is a wrong forum to do it too.

I ask the same question to my lawyer when i saw your posting about your I_485 without the employer letter. This is his response, I hope this will help answer your question.

Thanks for the information! We included copies of your recent paystubs to meet this requirement. In essence the only 'initial' evidence that is required to get the case accepted are the properly signed forms, the correct filing fee amount, and some information about the basis for the filing. In your case that is the approved labor cert and info about the I-140.
If the Immigration Examiner wants any additional evidence about your eligibility he or she will issue a request for evidence. However in my experience the employer letter is very optional. I don't include it in about half of the cases I file and I have not received a request for it either.
I'll let you know when we get the receipt notices - probably not for another two weeks.

Online MBA from University of Maryland University College matches the criteria you mentioned (to a larger extent). Also you can have MBA degree in 2 yrs. The course work is demanding and one would need TOEFL if not educated in US or few other countries. GMAT is not required.
