You missed the point totally ! it's not about just excercising my right or giving hard time to the authority, it's about resisting/protesting the STUPID law in every legal manner possible.

Being within 100 miles of the border ITSELF is grounds for being asked the question about your immigration status as per that law. There need not be additional suspicious activity.

Need a suggestion on finding a job!
My friend has a master degree in India and worked in India for 6 months in Seimens before coming to US. Now she has EAD and would like to start working. Its been 3 years she left India and been idle.
She would like to start as a fresher / jr in IT though she has little experience.
When I asked a couple of guys, they suggested to approach Desi consulting companies.
From what I heard, they train and put up some fake exp and then apply for jobs (and of course need to sign a contract). But she doesn't like that.
I know a lot of people are in this situ too. I believe some of you have been here for a long time and have dealt with desi and US consulting companies. Some of you guys have good insight into these matters as well.
So what do you guys suggest?
Approaching Desi co is a good idea? or try for a full time employment with some US cos?
I was told that Desi cos know tricks of the trade. Not sure how true this is.

(I don't see so many job openings for freshers / juniors. Very very limited.)

I got a reply from USCIS saying that they can process the request sorted by priority date and country of birth of the applicant. Processing time will be around 15 months and that they have got their answer on priority date.
what are the next steps?

I totally agreed with you. This system has to be cleaned. If a system is being misused then the Gov will take some action. I also dont think they want to remove all Indians from US. I believe they will link this system with a new system similar to JRE and TOFFEL so that a police inspector from India can not come as PL/Sql programmer no matter who is hiring. I know my comment will hurt lot of people here.
I think you just invented 2 new exams "JRE" and "TOFFEL"? Are these the ones that a police inspector (like you?) needs to take to become a PL/SQL programmer? :D

(e) Personal possession of registration or receipt card; penalties
Every alien, eighteen years of age and over, shall at all times carry with him and have in his personal possession any certificate of alien registration or alien registration receipt card issued to him pursuant to subsection (d) of this section. Before suing the USCIS, we should inform USCIS of our intentions. My idea is like this -
- Draft a letter highlighting the Statues and Rules (we can seek Attorneys help) regarding the Quarterly spill-over
- IV members/non-members would send their electronic signatures
- We would stick signatures in the electronic document
- Print this huge(hope it will be) document and deliver personally to DHS/USCIS executive officers
Any suggestions or changes are welcome.

You go back to your posts and check what you said. Do a bit of introspection before you resort to mudslinging. Adding facts helps members. My Friend...Applied his Labor on EB-2 in MAR 2005. His labor approved and applied I-140 & I-485 in AUG 2007. His I-140 Got approved. He said his lawyer accidentally filed his I-140 in EB-3. Because his I-140 approved notice Type has the message like "Skilled Worker or Professional, Sec. 203(b) (3) (A) (i) or (ii)". Is this is true....? Thanks for early reply.

What if my employer is definitely going to revoke my approved I-140 upon my resignation (past 180 days)? Do I need to file "Notice of I-140 Portability"?
